Jeddah Race Way

Written by Ahmad

A very interesting project which will attract many of our youth in the Kingdom. Jeddah race way (JRW) is a Safe and Legal place where popularity comes from mocking the slow, challenging the fast, and walking away with the impossible.

It includes the first stand-alone “FIA” standard ¼ Mile (402 Meter) drag strip in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, It will be equipped with the highest standards in safety, racing equipment, and complementary services offered by the international market. JRW’s design and structure was developed based on the FIA ranked 1st in the world, stand-alone drag strip “route 66” in Chicago, IL.

I remember when I used to car race with my friends in Malik road. At that time, Malik road wasn’t crowded as we see it today. Significantly less police cars were there to monitor speedy cars. We were dangerously driving our cars and we suffered alot since we lost many of our friends in car accidents.

JRW rocks!!

I also lost a couple of dear friends due to ‘racing’ on Malek Rd. I must say, since then, I have despised amateur racing in normal city streets.. So I guess JRW would be a good plan to keep the underground racers off the streets and on the tracks!!

    That;s a really good idea.

i lost it in an accident due to racing with my friend!
    No racing with my mazda

Can’t wait to see it in real action.

Well That is VERY VERY good, I just hope they maintain high standard, I mean racing is in the blood of most teenagers and men in general, they should really work on making it a very nice place to visit..

Not to mention safe for all to hang out in. With hot dog stands and all that! Has anyone watched Cars? I must say racing meant a whole new world to me because of it.. :)

i am so glad they came up with this. i lived on malik road and sari street intersection, and i would be driving up and down malik road quite a lot…and would be terrified of all the racers on that road. at least malik road will now have less racers…

Funny story that happened to me: I was driving back from the beach on Malik Rd on a Thursday afternoon, and I was doing 120 KM/H on the left lane (Speed limit is 110 KM/H) and a Caramel colored Chevy Lumina SS (Typical car that guys use for racing in this country) was going a bit faster, so I made way for him and then returned to the left lane upon allowing him to pass… A minute later a cop stops both of us and claims that we were racing… Of course I was shocked!! I tried to explain to him that I wasn’t! Of course, as everyone knows, it’s usually pretty hard to convince a cop of something based on reasoning and common sense!!! Anyway, I ended up getting a ticket for speeding a wreckless driving! Speeding because I was going 10KM/H above speed limit (Kindly note that the cop did not have a speed detector, so he wasn’t absolutely sure how fast I was going) and wreckless driving because I was supposedly “racing”… What a weak attempt Mr. Cop!!! but I know I’ll get my revenge some day! Maybe the ticket won’t even go into the database, that would be fair ;)

Tell me about those cops, I wonder he was the fat or the thin one?

I wish a friend of mine can come here and comment about his last experience in jail for speeding.. I shall let him comment soon

Guys this is friggin amazing… i can’t believe it..

I was talking to my friends about Fast and Furious 3 and how they portray Tokyo as a drifting center and I was like..

DUDE, have you been to Saudi???

Jeddah, Riyo and Khobar have been drifting for more than 50 years..

I mean we love our cars, and we are speed freaks, so why not do it in an organized way?

    I CAN’T WAIT :)

There was a clip on BBC’s Top Gear show that was sent from Saudi showing Camrys and Maximas drifting.. The presenters were impressed… I’ll try to find a link for it…

I checked your blog after very long time and its now kind of dead with no new posts. I was expecting to read various social political posts related to Jeddah and Saudi Arabia but there is complete silence on your side maybe it is due to strick rules set by Royal Family who do not want people to criticise their wrong policies which are basically to please White House.

Come on guys keep posting interesting social and political issues like other Dr. Khaled Batarfi of Arab news. He mostly write about the current affairs of Middle East without criticising the Royal Slaves of White House. You too can do that.
